In 2004, my family spent a week in Normandy, travelling from the southern coast around Le Mont St. Michel to the northern shores near Juno Beach. I sought to capture the multiple layers of time in these places through the use of texture and tape which reveal the layers of paint beneath the surface.
On this same holiday we visited Southern England. One day out in the countryside I saw a wonderful cloud moving along the horizon – its larger than life personality – if clouds can be described as having a personality – was the inspiration for Cotswold Cloud.
